Bupa WPA Healix

Eligible Vitality Health post-operative referrals may also be accepted with the correct consultant referral and authorisation.

Insurer availability is subject to change.

Before you book with insurance

Please check your policy for referral requirements, excess payments, treatment limits and whether authorisation is needed before treatment starts. If you are unsure, our reception team can help point you in the right direction.

We do not currently bill AXA, Aviva, IPRS, Nuffield Health or other insurers directly. If your insurer is not listed on this page, you may still be able to attend as a self-funding client and reclaim some or all of the treatment cost from your insurer, depending on your policy terms.

Using your private health insurance

Usually takes about 10 minutes

Many of our patients use private health insurance for physiotherapy, which can help them complete a full course of treatment without self-funding each session.

  1. Check your cover with your insurer
  2. Open a claim to get authorisation
  3. Book your appointment with us
  4. Share your insurance details securely
  5. Start treatment with your physio

Your questions, answered

Which insurers do you accept?

We currently provide treatment for eligible clients covered by Bupa, WPA and Healix.

We also accept eligible Vitality Health clients who have been referred for post-operative physiotherapy by their consultant, subject to appropriate authorisation and the terms of their insurance policy.

We do not currently bill AXA, Aviva, IPRS, Nuffield Health or other insurers directly.

What information do I need to provide?

Before your first insurance funded appointment, please provide your full name and date of birth, your insurer and membership or policy number, your claim or authorisation number, the number of sessions authorised or your treatment funding limit where applicable, and details of any excess, co-payment or policy restrictions.

Do I need a GP or consultant referral?

If you are self-funding your treatment then you do not need a GP or consultant referral. If you are using private medical insurance, referral requirements depend on your insurer and policy.

Vitality Health clients attending under our current arrangements must have an eligible post-operative referral from their consultant.

What if I have an excess to pay?

If your insurance policy includes an excess, co-payment or other patient contribution, you are responsible for paying this amount. Any shortfall not covered by your insurer remains payable by you in accordance with our payment terms.

What happens if my insurer does not cover your full treatment fee?

If you are attending as a self-funding client and intend to reclaim treatment costs from another insurer, you will be required to pay our self-funding fee in full. We can provide a receipt for reimbursement, but we cannot guarantee your insurer will repay the full cost.

What happens if my insurer stops authorising treatment?

If your insurer declines further treatment or your authorised sessions or funding limit have been exhausted, you can choose to continue treatment as a self-funding client. Our reception team can provide current prices and package information.

Can I use a treatment package with private medical insurance?

No. Our self-funding treatment packages and discounts cannot be used for appointments billed directly to private medical insurers.
